Shares of HDFC Bank fell by 0.49% on Friday’s trading session to touch ₹1,673.95 apiece. Gross advances grew by 7% while deposits surged by 15.1% on a YoY basis.

After furnishing its Q2 results, shares of HDFC Bank fell by 0.49% on Friday’s trading session to touch ₹1,673.95 apiece.
While gross advances grew by 7% for the September quarter, deposits surged by 15.1% on a YoY basis.
Gross advances for this quarter stood at ₹25,19,000 crore as compared to ₹23,52,600 crore for the same period last year while deposits were at ₹25,00,000 crore as compared to ₹21,72,000 crore for the same quarter a year earlier. On a quarterly basis, deposits clocked a growth of 5.1%.
Gross advances refers to the amount of money disbursed as loans by the financial institutions. It’s a form of credit extended for a specific period of time where a person has to pay a fixed interest.
Advances under management clocked a growth of 8% on a Year on Year (YoY) basis to ₹26,33,500 crore. On a quarterly basis, advances grew by 2.3% for this quarter, said HDFC Bank
While retail loans grew at around ₹33,800 crore, commercial and rural banking loans grew at ₹38,000 crore.
Current Account Saving Account (CASA) deposits stood at ₹8,83,500 crore for this quarter clocking a growth of 8% as compared to ₹8,17,700 crore in the year ago period. Bank’s time deposits reported a growth of 19.3% at ₹16,16,500 crore.
Notably, the liquidity coverage ratio stood at 127% for this quarter.
